French Experience.

Perfect destination for a short school trip.

Spend a night in the Paris area for a full day in the French Capital. The city boasts many ‘must-see’ historical monuments and museum. Why not add a River Seine cruise, visit the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur or the Montparnasse Tower for a panoramic view of the city.

There’s so much to see and do, we can create an itinerary that includes your preferred places of interest. Just let us know where you would like to go and how long you wish to stay and we’ll do all the hard work for you.

Price based on bed and breakfast at hostels or city-style hotels. Extra meals can be arranged.

Example Itinerary

Day 1 - Early departure from your school/college for your journey to the Boulogne area for a three-night stay.

Day 2 - Visit Nausicaa Marine Centre. With over 4000 fish, an underwater observatory of Sea Lions and a Pacific Island coral reef as well as special ‘touch tanks’ where pupils can feel the various species of sea life, the centre is a ‘must’. Guided tours in English are available. Afternoon visit to Sire de Crequy Dairy Farm. The visit includes a tour of the cheese dairy and the opportunity to sample the products. The visit can be conducted in English or French depending on your preference and pupils’ ability.

Day 3 - Experience traditional French life by visiting a local boulangerie in nearby Hardelot. Here, your pupils will see behind the scenes of this everday labour of love and even get to try their hand at making their very own croissants. Afternoon visit to Calais. Wander through the streets soaking up the typical French atmosphere.

Day 4 - Return to U.K.

Boulogne has always been considered an important habour and claims to be France’s largest fishing port. Visit the 13th Century Castle, built in the eastern corner of the medieval walls surrounding the Haute Ville (literally, high town – the part of Bologne on the hill). The eastern part of the castle was built over a corner of the ‘Ancient Rome’ Roman wall, parts of which are still visible in the basement. See also the Basilique Notre-Dame built between 1827 and 1875 on the site of Boulogne’s medieval Cathedral.

Les Chocolats de Beussent - English guided tour by the owner including an explanation of chocolate and its orgins. There is the opportunity for pupils to sample some of the chocolate throughout the demonstration and then perhaps to buy some goodies to take home.

Calais Tourist Train - This road train travels through the city. Tour lasts approx 1hr.

Calais War Museum - Housed in a bunker that was once the command post of the German Navy. 20 exhibition rooms of artefacts, uniforms and weaponry trace the history of Calais from the battle of 1940 to the Liberation in 1944. An audio-guide is available in English.

Aqualud - A tropically themed seafront leisure centre in Le Touquet, with indoor and outdoor pools, water slides and wave pool.
